Job Posting: PLC Programmer

HEI is seeking a skilled and experienced Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programmer to join our team! 

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of programmable logic controller (PLC) systems used in our clients' machines and plants. You will play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing reliable solutions to technical challenges throughout all project stages. This includes designing control systems, writing logic, meeting project deadlines, developing testing routines, and commissioning devices.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design control systems and develop PLC programs for various applications.

  • Write, test, and debug PLC logic.

  • Interpret P&ID drawings to determine proper sequence and equipment operations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PLC systems.

  • Commission PLC devices and systems.

  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to ensure successful project execution.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of PLC programs and systems.

  • Provide technical support to clients as needed.

  • Adhere to NEC guidelines, OSHA standards, and HEI safety protocols.

  • Maintain positive relationships and communication with both employees and customers.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, including but not limited to Information Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Technology, or Instrumentation and Controls. 

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, and wiring schematics.

  • Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant safety standards.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and IDEC PLCs.

  • Ability to interpret P&ID drawings.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in all conditions, inside and outside, for extended periods.

  • Physical stamina to perform the demands of the job, including working in various conditions and lifting heavy materials.

  • A commitment to maintaining a positive company image and fostering strong customer relationships.

  • A valid Driver's License: For reliable transportation to job sites.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
