Job Posting: SCADA Engineer

HEI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Engineer to join our team! 

In this role, you will collaborate with end-users to understand their needs and implement SCADA/MES changes to meet those requirements. You will provide plant support for SCADA/MES systems and PLC logic, and participate in test and pilot runs of new and improved products, evaluating the results to drive continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with end-users to gather requirements and translate them into SCADA/MES solutions.

  • Develop and support object-oriented programming for SCADA applications.

  • Modify and troubleshoot SCADA systems, HMIs, and Data Historians (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, Iconics, FactoryTalk).

  • Utilize high-level programming languages (C#, Visual Basic, Python, etc.).

  • Analyze and interface with PLCs and other automation systems.

  • Work with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC DA/UA, Ethernet/IP, ROC, ABB, etc.).

  • Utilize your experience in programming languages such as MSSQL, VB, HTML, and PLC Logic.

  • Provide plant support for SCADA/MES systems and PLC logic.

  • Participate in test and pilot runs of new products and evaluate results.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards.

  • Maintain positive relationships and communication with both employees and customers.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately one week every 8-10 weeks) to respond to after-hours emergency calls.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, including but not limited to Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science with a focus on industrial applications. 

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, and wiring schematics.

  • Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant safety standards.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and support object-oriented programming for SCADA applications.

  • Proficiency in modifying and troubleshooting SCADA systems, HMIs, and Data Historians (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, Iconics, FactoryTalk).

  • Experience with high-level programming languages (C#, Visual Basic, Python, etc.).

  • Ability to analyze and interface with PLCs and other automation systems.

  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC DA/UA, Ethernet/IP, ROC, ABB, etc.).

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MSSQL, VB, HTML, and PLC Logic.

  • General computer knowledge and proficiency.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in all conditions, inside and outside, for extended periods.

  • Physical stamina to perform the demands of the job, including working in various conditions and lifting heavy materials.

  • A commitment to maintaining a positive company image and fostering strong customer relationships.

  • A valid Driver's License: For reliable transportation to job sites.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
